Wishful Thinking

I tell myself I want to build my online course and will commit 2 hours a day on writing the content.

I tell myself I want to improve the communications with my teenage son.

I tell myself I want to eat better.

And yet I found me slouching on the bed scrolling on my phone when I am supposed to write. Or once a again, raised my voice and snap at my son. And then feel bad and went to the kitchen and opened a bag of chips.

🎯 I believe we all have good intentions. We even set our intentions. But then we found ourselves going through days of responding, reacting, or not doing what we meant to do.

🎯 Having good intention is not enough. We need to ACT. And we need to set up GUARDRAILS.

🎯 When the standards have been set, the work is to EXAMINE and UPHOLD the standard, and to, USE THEM, and NOT TO COMPROMISE.

Easier said than done right?

I need to consistently catch myself and one powerful way is to ASK QUESTIONS.

I use mantras and questions to remind/ask myself whenever I found myself “sinking” into old habits.

It’s like a SAFETY RING, helping me WAKE UP quickly and realign myself to what I should do.

Every time you found yourself slipping, or reacting, catch yourself fast by asking questions.

“𝙄𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚?”

“𝙄𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙙𝙤?”

As much as we speak about goals, the more important thing is the process, meaning you need to catch yourself at the moment and do the right thing.

“I want to ______________” is just thinking. I WILL _______________” is action.

Tell yourself :

𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬.

Question for you:

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙆 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝘼𝘾𝙏 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝?

Share your thoughts with me. If it helps. Jot those reminder questions down.
