𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙬.. 🧨🧧

Being Chinese, I always love that we have two New Years.

January 1 – the Western New Year. We plan for the year, creating new habits, correcting old ones. We set our best intentions.

Then a month or so later is the Chinese New Year..

Not everything we plan works out. We may fall off track, Or there are things that simply don’t work. The in between time of the two New Years gives me the time to RETROSPECT, to survey, to experiment, to tune, to adjust course.

In Chinese there is a saying – 除舊迎新. It means getting rid of the old” and “welcome the new” in the new year. Ged rid of old patterns. Find new ways.

But don’t we all learn from our past?

Any new idea, is a combination of old elements.

I have a special love for mixing the classic and contemporary. My favorite clothing brand in Singapore is @iwantmymissingpiece. THey specialize in making modern Cheongsam and making these classic beautiful pieces comfortable, comfortable and flattering. It’s a perfect example of mixing the old and the new.

When it comes to my yoga practice and teaching, I respect the study of the time-tested ancient wisdom within the tradition of yoga and philosophy, yet I am also fascinated by the new science-based information and techniques that we can learn and evolve.I believe the old and the new mix admirably and the wisdom combined is powerful.

Today is the second New Year – the second chance of our New Year Resolutions.

Today, review your last month. Instead of seeing what has not been working, see your January as your “retrospection period”.

Reflect on what your want to keep, And what you want to rid, and re-chart your course.

I wish you all a “vibrant body 🤸🏼‍♀️ , sharp mind 💭 and soft heart ❤️.
