Trust the process
You hear people say, “𝘠𝘰𝘨𝘢 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴.” 🤔
The Process is not necessarily a yoga philosophy. It’s applied in life as well.
So often we are goal driven. But goals are scary.
The process simply means we should focus on
1️⃣ Doing the absolutely SMALLEST things well,
2️⃣ taking one action at a time
3️⃣ with full effort
I see this at most when students kick up to Handstand (including myself).
We place ourselves in front of the wall, measuring our hand distance, bringing one leg up, and then we froze.
We are there thinking, strategizing maybe there is fear. Maybe we are thinking of “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘶𝘱?” Then everyone is up and we are still stuck on the ground “preparing”.
There was one time my teacher yelled out, “𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘇𝗲. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘂𝗽!”.
I am not saying we should just ruthlessly do things. We do need some knowledge and skills. But ultimately we have to do it by taking action.
The process is about assuming the right action in the order, one after other – and trying out best to each action the best we can.
When we are busy putting one foot in front of the next, we stop overanalyzing the obstacles, or we don’t even notice the obstacles were there.
The same thing applies in life. Build your life action by action. 🙂
Acknowledge there will be obstacles. But shift our attention to taking action, one step at a time, and just see what happens, and be content with whatever that is.
𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. 🙏
Sounds cliché. But well, still works. 🙌
