THE HUMBLE ART OF FOUNDATION
Triangle pose. Warrior 2. Or as simple as Tadasana.
No matter how “𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥” your yoga practice is, you don’t skip foundation poses. 🙌
In any form of art, from yoga to performers to cooks, you do not see the masters “𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘴”.
A cook would still practice their chopping.
A pianist would never skip practicing scales.
A ballet dancer would still get into her plies arabesque.
A master of yoga would still get into their Downward Dog and Trikonasana.
Practicing is the most basic form of art because we love it.😊
We might be “good” at it already, but we still want to get better.
We may want to share with others (as a teacher) how this basic work has transformed us (hence we still continue to practice).
Or simple, we just can NOT do it.
I can’t live with a day without a Downdog.
Loving the humble art of the basic form because they are the foundation of everything.
And when we put our effort into them, the rest, or whatever we call it “advanced” will take care of itself.
As summer ends (although in Singapore it’s summer all year long!!), it’s back to school time.
