We somehow think imposter syndrome is something that only happens to people who are learning something new. ๐๐ฆ๐ธ ๐บ๐ฐ๐จ๐ข ๐ต๐ฆ๐ข๐ค๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด. ๐๐ฆ๐ธ ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ณ๐ด. ๐๐ฆ๐ธ ๐ค๐ฐ๐ข๐ค๐ฉ.
Turns out, the feeling of being an imposter never goes away. And in some ways, the more successful you are, the more you feel insecure about yourselves. ๐
Because the more successful we are, the more we feel like we need to live up to what everyone thinks we are or everyoneโs expectations of what we can do.
I think imposter syndrome is so common among teachers for this particular reason. We have this idealistic image of what a yoga teacher should look like, should act like, and should behave like.
( P.S. Yes, I am envisioning god-like images with white robes with halos over their heads).
When we feel like an imposter, itโs because we feel insecure. We feel insecure because we are stepping out of our comfort zone. I hope that by this time, youโll see imposter syndrome as a sign that you are choosing courage over comfort. ๐ค
See self-doubt as good news; because having self-doubt is what keeps us humble, keep us learning, and wanting to be better.
Growth is uncomfortable. Accept your thoughts. And keep going anyways. ๐ช
Action is the most potent way to conquer fear. Action is the most potent way to prove yourself wrong. Action is how you show yourself and the world what you are capable of.
