Since last year I have been “brewing” the idea of creating a platform to support new yoga teachers.
After months of planning, I finally did my first Online Workshop for Yoga Teachers since I moved to Singapore! 🥳
Starting is not easy. I feel you. I remembered how hard it was to take the first step to start teaching 10 years ago. 😩
Today, shifting from just teaching students and expanding to supporting teachers, is a new challenge, and yes, it’s hard.
What I found the biggest limiting beliefs for new yoga teachers to start (actually this applies to anyone starting something new) are 👇
1️⃣ Lack of Clarity 2️⃣ Lack of Confidence 3️⃣ Lack of Competence
In my last workshop, my students and I spent time clarifying our Vision as yoga teachers and Writing our Mission Statements. It’s AMAZING to hear out these new teachers’ passions full of passion and clarify to share their gifts to the world. Now we have clarity on what their vision is, we are pumped to get started!
But are we? Even if we know our purpose, we can still find it hard to get started, and that is usually because of a lack of confidence. 😨
“𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩.” “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘺𝘦𝘵.” “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵.”
In other words, we have 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗥.
“The key to success is to start before you are ready.” – Marie Forleo
The truth is… “I am not good enough.” “I am not ready yet.” “There are too many competitors out there and I don’t know how to stand out.”
Missed the last workshop?
Watch out for this space for the next workshop coming up this February – “𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲” – a workshop to get over your fear to start teaching!
