We already know that our posture is very important.

There are a lot of things in our everyday lives that affect and change the curvature of our spine.

👊 Sitting a lot every day for long period of time 👊 Slouching and rounding our back, 👊 Carrying a heavy shoulder back

And many more…

In my first 7 years of motherhood, I held my babies in the same position. And because of that, my spine started to lopsided to the right.

For each time you do a pose where you don’t align your body properly, you will get more and more misaligned.

By understanding the principles of alignment and applying them to every single posture you practice every day, a little bit at a time, in the long term you can re-align your body.

And yes, sometimes there are structural misalignments, in which we also learn that it’s going to be a part of us that may not be “fixed”.

In this case, we learn to work with them and make our bodies more balanced by building our body awareness in practice.

But most postural misalignments come from habits, but more importantly not knowing the HOW.

How to straighten my legs in Downward Dog? How to actually “square the hips”? How to lengthen the spine’s forward folds?

In Alignment classes, instead of focusing on the shape, we focus on the actions within the poses.

Alignment classes aim to give you a more balanced and aligned body and a more aligned mind.
